As the train draws out of Edinburgh's Waverley Station, travellers embark on a journey that combines thrilling history, breathtaking nature and dramatic romance.

The Train

With just 36 guests, this is railway travel at its most personal.

There are 14 twin, two double and four single State Cabins in our Sleeping Cars, each lined with rich marquetry. All have a private bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet, constant hot water, high-quality toiletries and fresh towels every day.

The Observation Car is the social hub of the train. Mingle with your fellow travellers over aperitifs, sinking into plush sofas as castles, villages and glens glide by.

Dining

Dining is always a highlight aboard the Belmond Royal Scotsman. Meals are served in the mahogany-panelled Dining Cars in groups of four, or on larger tables of six or eight.

Regional specialities are created with the best local produce. From hearty Highland breakfasts to the freshest seared fish and melt-in-the-mouth Aberdeen Angus beef, all dishes are sure to impress.

Journeys and Destinations

Most scheduled journeys depart from Edinburgh Waverley station, taking in the very best sites of Scotland over a number of nights. Each day guests are treated to breathtaking excursions, including exhilarating sporting activities and visits to historic castles and renowned distilleries.
