Grand Hibernian
The first luxury rail experience of its kind in Ireland, Belmond Grand Hibernian traverses the sprawling countryside, dramatic coasts and fascinating cities that define this captivating land.
Step aboard to enter a world of indulgence—contemporary carriages inspired by Dublin's architecture, fine cuisine featuring local delicacies and ever-changing scenery.
The train accommodates up to 40 guests in elegant, en-suite cabins. Combined with the two unique Restaurant Cars and welcoming Observation Car, the interiors proudly reflect Irish heritage while offering contemporary luxury.
Our vacations by rail include a selection of two-, four- and six-night journeys. All depart from Dublin and encompass the highlights of both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The Train
Each of the train's carriages is named after an Irish county, with interiors designed to reflect that county's traditional tartan.
Guests can select from 16 twin and 4 double cabins. All are en-suite and feature a wardrobe, a writing desk with chair and a large observation window. One of the train's carriages is specially adapted for guests with limited mobility.
The Observation Car evokes the atmosphere of a Dublin saloon. It is the perfect place to share stories with fellow travellers, listen to live music, or watch the changing scenery while savouring a glass of whisky or pint of Irish stout.
Dining
From artisanal cheeses and smoked fish to the freshest seasonal vegetables, the onboard menus showcase the finest ingredients from the regions the train travels through.
Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served in two air-conditioned dining carriages. Sligo is an elegant space arranged in tables of four, with sleek accents and chrome finishes. Wexford is a light-filled spaced seating guests at tables of six, enhanced by Irish tweeds and celtic motifs.
Journeys and Destinations
Departing from Dublin, the train offers three fantastic trips that capture both the heritage and modernity of Ireland.
The two-night journey takes you north to Belfast and the award-winning Titanic Experience, the artisanal delights of Waterford and the highlights of Northern Ireland. The four-night journey heads west to Cork, Blarney Castle, the Lakes of Killarney, Connemara National Park and Galway.
For a complete tour, the six-night journey combines the two itineraries for an unrivalled insight into the Emerald Isle.
